Molar mass of ammonium iodide = 144.94 g/mol So no. of moles of ammonium iodide = 40/144.94 = 0.2760 Thus, to make a solution of 0.3M, water needed = 0.2760/0.3 = 0.920 dm3 = 920 mL Therefore, 420 mL of more water are needed to be added.
